Am a Fish
Under water
it all slips away
pain sound worries
dissipate
Luxurious water
slips through fingers and toes
wraps around my body
hugs me tight
slick and liberating
The water kisses
calves
biceps
cheeks
toes fingers
I am fish
swimming silver scales
breathing through gills
The turquoise pool
feeds my hunger
for grace
I swim
a mermaid bathing
in the sunlit splendor
of the weekend
A mind crammed full
thoughts glide out of ears
into the water float away
Weightless saturated
lapping at the pool’s brim
