THE HISTORY OF MY HEART

OH JENNIFER
WE MUST NEVER HAVE A FIGHT

Jennifer was born in Brooklyn, NY where she founded the WordParty hosting poetry, music and performance art in her living room. Due to an overwhelming number of creative friends and a few knocks on the door by the local police, she eventually had to branch out to local venues in the East Village of New York City and eventually in San Francisco CA, where she now resides, and was the co-host of the WordParty Poetry and Jazz night. Jennifer is also a fine artist, painter and is known to collaborate with local artists and musicians including Nova Jazz, combining poetry, fine art and jazz music in her performances and publications.

Jennifer has been a featured poet at local readings in San Francisco including Modern Times Bookstore, The Beat Museum, The Red Poppy Art House, The San Francisco Public Library, and Poetry Mission at Dalva as well as numerous poetry venues in SF. She was a winner of the 2007 Poets Eleven city-wide contest selected by Jack Hirschman, SF Poet Laureate and the SF Public Library. She was also a featured poet and "Tableux Vivant - living painting" at the SF Museum of Modern Art as part of the performance for the closing exhibit of Frida Kahlo curated by Rene Yanez where she was dressed as Frida and performed original poems in her honor.

She is the author of two collections of poetry, Simple Language, 2003 and Secret City, 2007 - a bi-coastal collaboration with her father's original artwork in response to her poems. She is currently working on a new poetry and art collection about Italian food and love.
